Rashmi founded Sixteenth Street Capital in 2017 on a simple observation: the markets that needed long term capital were getting the least of it. She did not arrive at that insight from a distance. Before founding the firm, she was the youngest partner in Prince Street Capital’s history, covering the Asian markets. She graduated magna cum laude from the Wharton School and was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list the year she launched Sixteenth Street. Sixteenth Street embodies a deep research culture built on being embedded in these markets.
As Chief Investment Officer, Rashmi leads every stage of the investment process, from company visits and primary research through to portfolio construction, alongside her team, and holds the majority of her own capital in the same portfolio as the firm’s partners. Her instincts in these markets have made her a regular voice on panels and financial television, including CNBC’s Sohn Conference and the Capital Allocators podcast, and she has been named one of Hedgeweek’s 50 Leading Women in Hedge Funds. She is also committed to advancing financial literacy in underrepresented communities across Asia, and is based in Singapore.
